bueno, después que Groucho me quemara la cabeza (en una buena) con sus plugins.... me puse a juguetear un poco y me quedé bastante impresionado...
esto es sin leer ni estudiar como funciona la cosa.. simplemente probando con los distintos controles....
acá va la nueva versión de la Luna Mac.... el crop no es exactamente igual... pero igual da para ver la diferencia.... gracias Groucho!

exacto, gracias Groucho, un detalle que olvidé... la posición sobre el horizonte va a ser E (el propio punto cardinal).

en la rambla, antes de llegar a Carrasco en la curva antes del hotel Cottage hay una punta de piedras (la restinga de los pájaros, creo que la llaman).
no creo que haya que arriesgarse por entre las piedras, desde la vereda alcanza.
lo que no sé es cómo está el alumbrado público en Carraco ahora, hace tiempo que no voy por allí de noche, pero si se encienden todas las luces hay un lugar donde se las ve zigzaguear hacia el E, e inclusive reflejarse en el agua. es una pena que el viento no está del N, he visto el paisaje así y el reflejo en la orilla es interesante. la lectura fotométrica debe hacerse en la luna, en modo Spot, o si no, no subexponer 1/3 como hacés correctamente vos, botanist. la luz artificial te ve a indicar una obturación más rápida. ahí, cada cual conoce cómo fiarse de su fotómetro TTL.
bracketear se hace necesario con la luna, pero a mi me gustaría pegarle de una.

sí, plaza virgilio es una buena idea. pasa que a mi me quedó en la retina la luna llena y el zigzag de las luces de mercurio ...

además, allí estás realmente a nivel del mar, más a nivel del horizonte, imposible! (mirá cómo lo aclara la página de NASA que posteaste ... The best time to look is when the Moon is near the horizon.).

se me escapan muchas cosas todavía, botanist ....

So, in the spirit of operational full disclosure...

Here's what I've done in preparation for doing a moon shot with a cell-tower
that I can get from my own front yard.

Follow along, folks.

1. Identified location of the tower. In this case 41.7417N, 92.7330W.

2. Identified desired shooting location. In this case 41.7428N, 92.7388W.

3. Stood at desired shooting location and using the iPad with an
angle-finder found that the cell-tower antennas were 5 degrees elevation.

4. Using TPE, I located the photographer location with the red marker and
the tower with the gray marker. Distance to tower is 1640 feet, bearing 104
degrees.

5. Using the Time Adjust slider, I move the moon position line till it
intersects the tower.

6. Adjust shooting location until line intersects the tower at 5 degrees
altitude (elevation).

7. Note the time, which is 8:20 PM.

8. Note the place where I start shooting. See trees? See building? See
parking lot to the east of shooting location? This is all downhill.

9. The downhill slope is significant!!! I am able to start shooting from the
top of the slope at the townhouse parking lot and as the moon rises, I move
to the east, down the hill and into the lower parking lot. By doing so, I
can keep the moon centered on the antennas for around seven minutes.

When dealing with sunrise or moonrise photos you want the ability to move to
the east. This will allow you to keep the moon centered on an object longer
than the very short time it will normally give you. North-south movement
will help with alignment, but when keeping the moon positioned on an
elevated object, having the ability to move towards that object will alter
the elevation angle.

Just doing a quick calculation, the moon diameter will be approximately 0.56
degrees. My 8-foot wide antenna array will be about 0.31 degrees. So the
entire antenna array will take up just over half of the moon's diameter.
Since I'm using 300mm focal length on a Four-Thirds camera, my angle-of-view
is approximately 3.8 degrees horizontally, so the moon will be about 1/8 of
the width of the image area.

sí, la bruma y la refracción hizo que fuese visible para mi cuando ya estaba completamente sobre el horizonte, pero no me vino mal que hubiese un poco de luz solar. lo que me dejó perplejo es que salió mucho más hacia el E que lo que me indicaba (o yo pude interpretar) TPE. no me quedó la isla de Flores en el frame, pero sí un par de puntas rocosas con montevideanos deambulando. seguramente el club de Punta Gorda, con una antena que pude esquivar.
a 420mm, tuve que hacer las tomas (todas ellas) con la cámara a -90º, es decir con el lado mayor vertical. a ƒ/8 andaba en 1/60 Spot.
cuando ya estaba alta y no podía incluir foreground, pasé a 840mm ƒ/5,6 en Spot ~1/15. es experimental solamente.

los cirujanos siempre me han decepcionado, botanist. yo no me opero de nada a menos que sea cuestión de vida o muerte y haya decidido continuar viviendo. TPE me decepcionó un poco, o todavía no lo entiendo bien. ............ o será la refracción?

tardaré un mes más o menos en poder mostrar en internet lo que hice hoy. como dije antes, me importa poco ésto: cuando dejé de procesar yo mismo Tri-X, pasé a usar Kodachrome 25. enviarlo a USA y esperar que retornara, eran unos 45 días. es normal para mi, y hasta me gusta que sea así.
