Quiero extender una red Wi-Fi N hecha con el WRT160N, configuro todo lo mas bien en el Airport Extreme(lo probe con un WRT54G y funciono a la primera) e incluso me fijo en el WRT160N y aparece como conectado, pero no funciona el Airport Extreme me dice que no encuentra la red.
Alguien me puede guiar.
Puede que no le de la señal recibida ? Estan muy lejos ? Que tipo de password de inalambrico estas usando ?
Lo primero que hay que probar cuando no funciona un WDS es sacarle la contraseña a la red.
No entendí lo que estas haciendo. ¿El Airport Extreme es 802.11n? ¿Que fue lo que probaste y funcionó, Airport con 54G o 54G con 160N?
¿Como lo tenés configurado? ¿Con WDS? ¿Wireless o con un cable conectando los 2 routers?
La probé sin cable y en N. El linksys es el que tiene Internet y distribuye Internet y la red interna de la empresa y SIN CABLES quiero que el router amplié la red del Linksys. Estan a un metro porque los tengo arriba del escritorio los estoy probando antes de instalarlo.
No quiero entorpecer tu pregunta cesarale, pero justo estaba pensando en comprar un Router Linksys WRT150N y quisiera preguntarte si realmente se nota la diferencia de alcance de la señal Wi-Fi y la velocidad de transmisión de datos con respecto a un WRT54G por ejemplo.

Posibles soluciones:
1) Update al último firmware en ambos routers.
2) Ponele DD-WRT al Linksys.
3) Resetea el Airport Extreme: http://support.Apple.com/kb/HT1406
4) En el Airport Utility tenes WDS pero también tenes "extending a wireless network", son modos distintos. Proba ambos.
a. "The other "n" station is set to "Extend a wireless network"..... Doing this step removes the WDS options on this "n" box in the settings....."

In the Express-n Settings:
1. In the "Wireless" tab, set Wireless Mode to "Participate in a WDS network"
2. In the "Wireless" tab, enter the name of Linksys network into the "Network Name" field
3. In the "Wireless" tab, make sure you're using the same Channel as your Linksys
3. In the "WDS" tab, set the pulldown menu to "WDS remote"
4. In the "WDS" tab, enter the Linksys Mac into the WDS Main field

I had the same problem. I recently updated the firmware for a couple AX's and afterwards, Airport Utility would not recognize them. Performing a factory reset on them would not resolve the problem either.
I solved the problem by:
1. connecting an AX via Ethernet cable to my MBP
2. checking the configuration of the AX; then
3. re-installing the firmware update
4. performing a factory reset on the AX (after firmware update)
5. unplugging the Ethernet cableAIrport Utility would then recognize the AX and I configured the AX to join my network.
Basically, when I initially updated the firmware for each AX, for some reason, the update didn't complete and re-installing the firmware while connect via Ethernet cable resolved the problem.
